A Guided Course on Mindful Meditation

Do you meditate ? You do? Good for you.

For the rest of us who don’t, but would like to begin the practice, here is an impressive guided session from Jon Kabat-Zinn, a prominent speaker and trainer in the art of mindful meditation, straight from one of the conference rooms in Googleplex. As a company known for its diverse interests in everything from microbiology to psychology, Google often has leading speakers from different domains to give seminars to their employees. As part of that series, Mr Kabat-Zinn gave a powerful speech about the advantages of meditation and how anyone can reap benefits of a mind that is more calm, focussed and aware of itself and its surroundings. His guided session for a beginner level meditation is fascinating by itself.

Like many things about the mind, to see some real benefits of this practice, one must employ patience, discipline and dedication. (Oh, now I remember why I suck at meditation!)
