It’s not really fair to use Carl Sagan’s inspiring words to plug the space shuttle. He didn’t like the space shuttle program and said so quite a few times. For example, this was Sagan during a Charlie Rose interview: “The space shuttle puts five, six, seven people into a tin can, shoots it up two hundred miles, and they launch a communications satellite that could have been launched by an unmanned booster…”
